The music itself passed the spectrum from afternoon ambient electronica to full on blaring rock ‘n' roll at night. Each band that played had their own identity, their own image, and their own talent. There was not a dud in the bunch. Nophest is not musically genre based, and each passing hour continued to showcase electronic, rock, indie, and punk bands, all spanning the extensive and eclectic of Garcia, and the community at large. Friday night included the hard electronic and multimedia presentation of Larvae, and the experimental and lively Jungol. This Piano Plays Itself brought a lush, raw, and well arranged mix of rock and pop. Saturday was a very rock oriented, and the parking lot and stage area were jam packed for the full Renaissance regalia and steampunk sensibility of Extraordinary Contraption, and the blazing guitar and soulful vocals of Garcia's own indie band Nerd Parade. By Sunday, the crowds were sparse, partly due to the endless rain, as well as the unrelenting hangovers. Halfway through the day, Sensitive Chaos summed up the mood perfectly, with a low-key set of electronics that massaged the brain, and soothed the heart. While the music played on, the other major event of Sunday was a large gathering of folks in the parking lot playing six degrees of Kevin Bacon, complete with notes and a map for quick reference.

Another mp3 download of new music from The Good Graces
My alt folk band, The Good Graces, is giving away our new EP, Bring On The Tambourines, for FREE - one song at a time.
The EP's third song to be made available, "Pretty New Song" is here:

This is my personal favorite off the EP, and features Kim on vocals, acoustic gtr, and drums, John on electric guitars and leads, and me on organ. Jerry Kee did a phenomenal job with other sonic flourishes and mixing, and Carl Saff provided the mastering polish.

Klimchak sets mood for Shakespeare’s ‘Titus Andronicus’
A nice AJC/Access Atlanta article on Klimchak:

Off to the side sits a memorable figure, listening intently and almost imperceptibly moving his body to the rhythms of the actors’ speech. His pale, bald head and circular John Lennon glasses and that reddish-gray goatee create an indelible image. He’s surrounded by about 50 musical instruments: cymbals, drums, gongs, weird electronic contraptions, flutes from West Africa, Brazil or origins unknown.
His name is Klimchak.

Sensitive Chaos @ MGFest and City Skies Shows July 11 & 12
I'll be performing as Sensitive Chaos twice on the weekend of July 11th and 12 with shows at Saturday night's City Skies 09 Electronic Music event @ Kavarna in Decatur, GA and Sunday night's MGFest09 (Motion Graphics Fest) @ The Creative Circus in Atlanta, GA.
My set at City Skies will start at 8pm and other fantastic performers that night are Pink Kodiak, reklein, and Mark Mahoney. Kavarna is located at 707 East Lake Drive, Decatur, GA 30030. More info can be found at CitySkies.com.
I'm really excited about the MGFest show. I'll be performing from 9:30-11pm for an extra long set, and my set visuals will be provided by Integrated Visions, an Atlanta, GA based VJ team founded by Michelle Penland and Bryan Dodson in 2002.
After graduating from the art school at the University of Georgia, Michelle and Bryan began experimenting with collaborative visual arts, searching for a technique that would allow them to collaborate with visual art similar to the way Jazz musicians collaborate with sound. This experimentation led them to discover the unlimited possibilities of VJing. In addition to allowing Michelle and Bryan the opportunity to collaborate with each other, VJing has allowed them the opportunity to collaborate with countless artists from different disciplines including musicians, dancers, actors and directors.
Since 2002, Integrated Visions has performed live video projections along side many internationally recognized artists including DJ Qbert, Richard Devine, Carl Cox, Infected Mushroom, Deep Dish, the Juice Crew and The Roots. Their work can also be seen on tour this summer with Very Disco, a Daft Punk Tribute. Read more!
